About us

Galway Sick Kids Foundation CLG was established to fundraise for equipment and supports that benefit patients and staff in the Paediatric Unit, A&E and NICU at University Hospital Galway.

Making Hospital Stays Easier for Children.

We raise funds for equipment, family support and child-friendly improvements that make hospital visits and stays a little easier for children and families attending paediatric and neonatal services at University Hospital Galway. These services care for patients from across Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Donegal and North Clare.

Virtual Reality Headsets

The VR headsets show immersive visual journeys timed with real clinical treatments. They transform stressful moments into calm, positive experiences. Very successful purchase, more headsets to follow.

ROP Camera

This special camera is used to screen premature infants in the Neonatal unit to ensure they do not develop Retinopathy of Immaturity. This is a serious eye condition which can lead to vision loss

Paediatric Playroom Renovation

In our commitment to creating a child friendly environment ,our focus this winter is to upgrade the childrens playroom with evidence based design strategies which can help to develop a healing environment.
