Bright hospital room with yellow-striped blinds, a yellow armchair, a hospital bed with a yellow blanket, a white chest of drawers, and a wall clock. Sunlight streams in through large windows, creating a warm atmosphere—an inviting space designed for Galways Sick Kids to rest and recover in comfort.

Our Impact

Galway Sick Kids Foundation raises funds to support children and families attending the Paediatric Unit at University Hospital Galway.

We work in partnership with the unit’s team to fund equipment, improve facilities and create a more child-friendly hospital environment.

Impact in Action

Through the generosity of our supporters, we continue to fund meaningful improvements that enhance care and comfort within the Paediatric Unit.

A young boy in a striped shirt rides a small black toy car indoors at Galways Sick Kids. Bright sunlight shines on the floor, and colourful chairs and tables are visible in the background.

Our work focuses on practical improvements that directly benefit children and their families.

Guided by Clinical Need

We work directly with nursing management and staff within the Paediatric Unit to prioritise projects and ensure that every euro raised delivers meaningful value.

Our role is simple: to raise funds that make the hospital experience safer, more comfortable and more supportive for children and families.

As a registered charity, we are committed to transparency and responsible stewardship of all funds raised.

A person in blue scrubs and a stethoscope gestures to a brown teddy bear. A yellow speech bubble is drawn near the bear’s head, suggesting the bear is speaking or being spoken to during a pretend check-up—perfect for illustrating the compassionate care provided by Galways Sick Kids.
Child’s drawing of a smiling girl with pink plaited hair and rosy cheeks, doing a handstand whilst wearing a red skirt—capturing the joyful spirit often seen in Galway’s Sick Kids.

“ The support provided by Galway Sick Kids Foundation has delivered meaningful, practical improvements within the Paediatric Unit. From equipment to family facilities, these enhancements make a real difference to both patient care and the overall experience for children and their families.”
