Kayla Bermingham was only 4 months old when she died suddenly in June 2022 – her parents Arlene and Ciaran were left absolutely heartbroken and devastated and decided to organise a walk to honour her memory – on Sunday 12th February 2023 people gathered at the Claddagh Hall and walked in Kayla’s name to the end of Blackrock and back. People wore purple t-shirts in her memory and also supported a huge raffle afterwards. In total the family raised almost €40,000 for the Paediatric Unit of University Hospital Galway via the Galway Sick Kids Foundation the affiliated Charity. Arlene and Ciaran acknowledged the tremendous help and support they received from all staff members in the Paediatric Unit at that terrible time.
